Many Thanks...

I played along with the Just Us Girls challenge over the weekend.  Have to admit I was a bit stumped at first with the sketch.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with the flower embellishment.  I rarely make stems...but then I started searching through my stamp stash...and came to my PTI Embellishment stamps.  Happiness...  I had a bit of a challenge getting the colors to photograph well, but I'm happy with the monochromatic tones of this card.  Hope you enjoy the card too!

Quick question:  anyone have tips if they are happy with their light box...or how they take their pictures inside?  Not looking forward to inside photography with the time change!
Ingredients:  PTI Embellishments Stamps and Die; Hero Arts Script Stamp; Stampin' Up Crumb Cake Paper/Ink, River Rock Paper/Ink and Very Vanilla ; KaiserKraft Pearls

I'm loving your monochromatic cards; makes me want to make one!

There was a great thread on Facebook a few days ago about making your own lightbox. I have trouble taking photos inside too, so I'm gonna give it a try. Here's the article: http://www.digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent

Wow, this is really beautiful, Lynn! That sketch looks complicated and you simplified it wonderfully.

I don't have a light box but every blogger who has one has said they love it! I'd love one but don't have the space. Here's what Kristina Werner does - simple and effective!

Love the tone on tone on this one, Lynn :) Okay, I'm at home so I can answer this question. I made, actually, I had Tony and Jake build my light box for me out of foam core boards from Micheals. It measures about 24x18x18. I have a piece of natural muslin attached to the back so you don't see the seam of the box. I photograph ALL my photos in it now, regardless of time of day as it's in my studio and all set up. If a card base is too similar to the muslin, I put either a brown or pink piece of 12x12 paper behind to add contrast. Now, the setting on my camera is the key to having the photos turn out. I have a Canon Power Shot. I have fiddled with the settings and it works most of the time for me...the one setting that I really needed to adjust was the "light bulb" setting...I have to use the "tungsten" setting. I also edit my photos using the free Paint.net. Now some colours are tricky, like hawaiian shore and I have to adjust the hue for that...I'm no expert, but that's as far as I've gotten with photography :) Hope something here helps :)

Well this came out beautifully! Love the background print you used!

I use a photo tent for taking photos of my cards and projects in the winter and it works well for me.

Thanks for joining Just us Girls this week!

This is just GORGEOUS Lynn!!! I love your neutral color palette - it's so CAS and elegant!!! It's just got WOW written all over it! Great take on the sketch! Thanks for playing along with Just Us Girls!

I use a collapsable photo tent I bought online and I love it to pieces! I just leave it set up and place my cards in when I'm ready to photograph them. It came with a few backgrounds and lights too. I got it from http://www.obnphoto.com/index.html in case you're interested :) They have several kits. Cheers!
