College Memories

Good morning...I'm off to shop til I drop today with three of my college roommates from my sophomore year in college.  We get together once a year to catch up.  I'm very blessed that these three ladies are very dear friends...and although we don't connect enough in between shopping trips we certainly always pick up where we left off.  Do you have those friends that you don't talk to that often, but whenever you do...you connect as if you just talked yesterday?  Sandy lives close so thankfully we get together more often (but not often enough) and Kelly and Colleen live about 3.5 hours away.  Very dear friends and I'm looking forward to our day out today.  I thought I'd take you on a time warp back to 1989/90 and share a few photos!

The first photo is after a St. Patrick's Day bash when the Dayton Flyers had made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  Needless to say...it was a great party!  Pat (yes the same Pat that is my husband) told his roommate he would buy him a keg of beer if he got all of us covered in mud.  He succeded quickly and it was a very rainy night!  Our shower was disgusting!  The old house that we rented had one bathroom for six girls!
Here we are getting ready for homecoming.  Do you like all the permed hair and the white hose?  We're looking very good!  I don't think I actually went to the dance because I was in a sorority and we had a lot of dances...but I was there to partake in the pre-party!

I'm taking my camera today to take some current pictures of the UD Alumni group!

And...I actually have a card to share too!  What do you think about this one layer card inspired by this week's Clean & Simple challenge?
Ingredients:  Hero Arts Stamps; PaperTrey Ink Kraft Paper; Stampin' Up Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Baja Blue Ink.

My college roomie is the same for me - no matter how long it's been since we talked, once we connect again it's like we just saw each other yesterday. We're in different countries but try to touch base as often as possible. I'm so grateful we've managed to stay connected!
Love the card - clean and simple is definitely my favourite style!
Have a fantastic shopping trip!

Thanks for sharing the photos. They certainly brought a chuckle because I was totally into my permed hair and big ole' laced collar dress in college. My former roomies are scattered around the U.S. and we keep in touch via e-mail. I hope you have a great time today....sounds so fun!
I really like the simple style of this card. I also like your card in the post below..reminds me of fresh cotton linens for some reason....very cool!
