One on One Time

Having four children means that rarely do I have one on one time with each of the boys.  On Tuesday night when I got home from work, Ryan was home by himself and Pat was out with the three little boys.  It was a great night...Ryan and I sat and talked for a solid hour.  Chatted about what is happening with him right now.  It was so nice to sit and talk together without distractions.  When everyone else arrived home, I gave him a hug and kissed him and said, "I love talking to you."  He gave me that awkward little smile.  I said, "I know you think I'm weird."  His response, "Mom, I've certainly seen weirder moms."  I started laughing.  He then proceeded to say, "Mom, just don't stalk me at public events."  By this point I was laughing harder.  He just had his first school dance on Friday night.  It was a very casual dance, nothing formal yet!  His comment was his way of telling me not to show up as a chaperone!  But I do have a confession, I made sure I picked up from the dance on Friday night so I could check out what was going on!  Oh how I love my time with my boys...one on one or all together.

Now...a card to share.  This is my first card for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.  The inspiration was this sweater.  I loved the honeycomb look on the sweater and pulled out my BasicGrey paper with a very similar pattern.  I used Ranger Distress Ink - Antique Linen around the edges of the card and the circles.  Hope you like the card.  It reminds me of Karen's style...which I just adore.

PS My giveaway is still going...check it out here.

Ingredients:  Basic Grey DSP; PTI Kraft Paper and Ribbon; PTI Fillable Frames Stamps; Kaiser Kraft Pearls, Ranger Distress Inks Antique Linen and Brushed Cordoruy

love that bit of bling and your boy stories :) How great to spend a little time together...just the 2 of you :) As they get older, you will become cool again...I find that with my son now that he has moved away...I think he thinks I'm not so bad :) LOL

Awww, that's so great that you get to spend that time with your oldest and how open and honest, yet fun you guys seem to be! Love your card too, and thank you for the highest compliment anyone can give.

That honey comb paper is great and certainly goes with the sweater...great card!
I chuckled at your son's comments. Recently I called my nine year old son "Lamby" (which I've been calling him his whole little life) in the presence of his friends. He pulled me aside and said, "Don't ever call me that in public again"....I've now resorted to calling him "Chops" and he knows it is because he is still my little lamb chop.
Oh, thanks for mentioning Karen's blog which I really liked and it led me to reallifepictures.blogspot.com where a tutorial is given on making coffee filter flowers (Oct. 1). I'm going to give that a whirl this weekend!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
